This roadmap is directional. Priorities may change based on user feedback, security requirements, technical dependencies, and product learning.

Product roadmap

Product roadmap

In development

Currently being built.

  • Strategic contribution and context

For every process, make visible why it exists and what it contributes — and show the environment it operates in.

  • Connect people with processes

Make the connection between people and processes visible and enable quick access to the relevant processes.

  • Role visibility

Show who performs which roles and which skills those roles require.

Planned next

What we intend to work on next.

  • BPMN 2.0 interoperability

Move from an easy-to-understand New Process model to BPMN 2.0 when deeper analysis or automation is needed.

  • Process Feedback

Give people an easy way to share feedback directly on the processes they work with.

On our radar

Long-term directions we explore.

  • Process maturity & priorities

Make improvement priorities and maturity visible across process landscapes.

  • Reusable process content

Reuse and share processes across different process worlds.

  • AI-assisted process exploration

Find, understand and analyze process knowledge with AI while keeping the process as the foundation.

  • Compliance, risks & controls

Connect processes with relevant requirements, risks and controls.

  • Process knowledge & context

Connect processes with supporting knowledge, tools and information.

Release notes

Energy Meter, arrow enhancements, and security & privacy hardening

This release introduces the Energy Meter, improves arrow handling and process-map readability, extends multilingual support, and delivers a broad set of security and data-protection improvements across the application and server infrastructure.

  • New Energy Meter: Users can now rate whether individual activities or decisions give or drain energy. This makes the process experience visible directly in the process map.
  • New Translation export & import: The texts of a process world can be exported, translated externally and imported again. This speeds up multilingual modeling.
  • Improved Arrows: The routing of arrows can now be arranged manually, and arrows can be drawn directly between two adjacent activities. This makes process maps clearer.
  • Improved Automatic hyphenation: Long words in process models are now wrapped with hyphenation, which makes them easier to read.
  • Improved Multilingual emails: All system emails now follow the language setting of the recipient.
  • Improved Mobile access: The login, sign-up and password screens are now fully usable on mobile devices.
  • Security Two-factor authentication: Two-factor authentication can now be activated for the login. This further increases the protection of your processes.
  • Security Security and data-protection hardening: The application and the server infrastructure have been hardened comprehensively. Access and ownership checks are stricter, authentication and session handling have been hardened, and API tokens now expire. The production environment has been set up from scratch and is protected by a firewall, with automated, encrypted backups and monitoring. On the data-protection side, users now acknowledge the privacy policy and terms at registration, a cookie/storage consent banner has been added, legal links are available in the footer, and the foundation for an audit log has been laid.

Approval workflow, nine languages, role groups and process management enhancements

This release adds an approval workflow for publishing processes, extends the app to nine languages, introduces role groups for swimlanes and a new “My managed Processes” widget, and makes versioning and the structuring of process models more powerful.

  • New Approval workflow: Publishing a process now includes an approval by the process owner, so that changes only go live once they have been reviewed. In addition, RocketBPM now distinguishes between editorial changes and changes to the content of a process.
  • New Nine languages: The app is now available in nine languages, and process content can be maintained in these languages as well when needed. In addition to German and English, Spanish, French, Brazilian Portuguese, Italian, Polish, Dutch and Chinese are now supported.
  • New My managed Processes: A new widget on the start page shows each user the processes for which they are responsible in a process management role. This gives them quick access to the processes they look after.
  • New Move and duplicate: Process models can now be moved or duplicated, including the entire sub-structure below a process object. This makes it much easier to restructure a process landscape or to reuse existing models.
  • New Role groups: With the new role groups, several roles can be assigned to a single swimlane. This allows responsibilities that are shared by multiple roles to be shown in one lane.
  • Improved Versioning: The archive now also provides access to all language variants of a model. In addition, the process management roles and the revision information are saved with each version.
  • Improved Text display: Texts in activities and decisions are now displayed more clearly in both the viewer and the editor.

Versioning and display fixes

Introduced draft versioning and fixed display issues with arrow labels and process model sizes.

  • New Versioning: Each draft save now creates a new version with a number, a timestamp and the author. Previous versions remain accessible.
  • Fixed Arrow labels no longer shift at different screen resolutions. The sizes of process models are now fixed to prevent misplaced labels and visual distortion.
  • Improved Process maps now use a 20×20 pixel grid. This makes it simple and fast to align process objects.

User management, multilingual support and modeling improvements

Major update adding user invitation, role management, self-sign-up, multilingual interface, and a range of usability and modeling improvements.

  • New User invitation: Users can be invited via the process world management. They receive a registration email and, by default, access to the demo world.
  • New Role management: The roles of users (user, modeler, admin) can be adjusted. Accounts can also be deactivated and reactivated without deleting them.
  • New Self-sign-up: New users can register via a form and receive access to the demo world by default.
  • New Sticky notes: Resizable yellow notes with free text can be added to process maps and swimlanes. This is possible in draft mode only.
  • New Multilingual interface: The interface supports English, German and Spanish, with more languages to follow, and can be set via the browser or the user settings. Process worlds support translations per object with a language fallback. This feature was still in progress at the time of release.
  • New Google / Microsoft 365 login: Users can sign up and log in via Google or Microsoft 365. Admins can automatically assign users based on their email domain. This feature was still in progress at the time of release.
  • Fixed Adjacent process linking: Processes in the lowest swimlane can now be linked to adjacent processes, so that navigation between them is possible.
  • Improved Font alignment: Steer & Enable objects now use the same font size as Value Adding processes, in both the viewer and the editor.
  • Improved Draft watermark: Process maps in draft mode now show a diagonal “DRAFT” watermark instead of the previous red frame.
  • Improved Enhanced sharing menu: The sharing menu offers new options to copy only the link or to copy the process name together with the link.
  • Improved Process World preview: The process maps of the highest level are now shown as preview images in the process world slider.

UI improvements and password management

Polished user interface with design improvements and added in-app password management.

  • Improved Polished UI: The app now offers cleaner layouts, better spacing and a more consistent user experience throughout.
  • New Password management: Users can now change their password directly in the app via their profile settings, without needing to send a support request.

First release — early access launch

RocketBPM opens for first user testing with an introduction video, a demo process world, and the start of the first feedback phase.

  • New Introduction video: A new introduction video guides new users through the basic features for accessing and modeling processes.
  • New Demo Process World: The first Demo Process World is available with an initial modeled process, and more will follow.
  • New First user testing phase: The first user testing phase has been launched, and the feedback of early users will shape the next improvements.
